Liam - Squam Lakes Association

As a Lifelong New Hampshire resident, I thought I really knew the state. I've spent a lot of time exploring, hiking and camping, enjoying our state parks, and taking day trips to various towns just to try a restaurant or  visit an event. The time I’ve spent living here in Holderness has been eye opening to me and has enlightened me to a whole new world.

As it turns out, I truly don't know this state as well as I once thought. Living by the ocean is so much different than living on a lake I’ve come to learn. The wildlife here on squam trumps any other part of the state I’ve been too. Loons, herons, otters, bears and all your pesky common woodland creatures are in abundance here.  I remember my first night here I laid in my bed for hours listening to the loons all night, I was exhausted the next day but it was definitely worth it.

Another thing that’s a lot different here is the people.

Holderness is home to some of the most kind people I’ve ever met and has a very strong sense of community. I would love the opportunity to  move here after I graduate college and just be apart of it all.
